Cruisy Eden
On Sunday the 15th of September we had a surprise start to the cruise ship season with a visit from Pacific Explorer with 2,300 passengers and 920 crew.
This was the first ship to tie up at Eden's new wharf extension and they did it in style without any help needed from our tugs.
Passengers started pouring off the ship around 8.30 all keen to enjoy the market nearby and everything Eden could offer them.
Cruise Eden again pulled a rabbit out of the hat organising another 'Taste of Eden' food festival in just days. It was held at the Seahorse Inn, Boyd town and passengers were bused out all dayto enjoy local produce at food stalls and great entertainment by local school children who sang their little hearts out.
A shuttle bus ran people around Eden to the beachers and into town - the first stop the Eden Killer Whale Museum - they had a very busy day as did we at their marquee at the wharf where we greeted passengers and gave them information about the museum and the town.
We also had lots of Old Tom books and souvenirs for them to collect as well as Little Ant books.

The pelicans kept a beady eye on all from their perches high above the crowds of people and one dropped a messy greeting on a lady who laughed and cleaned herself up then went into town to buy a tattslotto ticket to keep her luck going. She offered to buy me a coffee if it won!
Our next visitor, the Maasdam, a Dutch/American ship, is due in port on Friday the 27th of September. It has 1,260 passengers on board and 580 crew. They will berth at 9.30 if you would like to come down to Snug Cove to see her.
